Today we want instant gratification, so here are a few simple steps you can take to lose weight. If you apply these steps you will get results without diets, pills or surgery. You deserve to be healthy, so why not start today.

1. Start cutting back on your carbohydrate intake each day. Carbohydrates tend to turn into sugar which causes you to store fat. If you eat a lot of white bread, white rice, sodas and other highly processed foods it may cause you to gain weight as well. You need to incorporate good carbohydrate into your diet like fruits, vegetables, beans and whole grains.

2. Drink plenty of water. Drinking water before your meals will help to curb your appetite, which in turn will cause you to lose weight. Drinking water will also help to promote good health. Your body needs water to help regulate your temperature and carry proper nutrients throughout your body.

3. Incorporate exercise into your daily routine. You start by walking 15 to 20 minutes a day. The purpose of this is to help you speed up your heart rate so that you will start to burn calories.

4. Add a protein shake to supplement a meal. You can use a protein shake to substitute for a meal. Eating protein as a meal causes you to feel satisfied longer, which means you will consume fewer calories. Supplementing a protein shake for a meal is better than skipping a meal. This will also help you to lose weight.

6. Get plenty of sleep because your body burn calories while you are sleeping.
